A world without Christmas

I want to live in a world without Christmas
I can do without Valentine’s day & Easter too
You guested it, celebrating birthdays is though

A world where saying “I’m gay” gets no applause
I want to live & be & not be or even pass
Without exclaimed surprise

I don’t want a world where politics is defined by the softness of it’s hand
Where thought is pure not tainted & stained on command
I long for politics without these lies

In my world opinions are just that and not strained to win points
Opinions sit up & stand proud like kings in a crowd
People are aloud & voices heard & each speak the true word.
