When clearly the real solution is to process the applications instead of dragging your feet because that’s beneficial to the kind of people you want to get votes off. But here my solution, not my first and not the only one I think will work, but here it is;

You take your barges and park them on the French coast. You then invite all people who think they have the right to claim asylum in the UK to go to the barge. Furthermore, you give them a few nights’ accommodation while you check their claim and if it holds water you give them an extended stay while you confirm the details are correct and arrange where they will be staying when they move in the UK. Little extras like allowing them to apply for jobs etc could also be done.

Simple really, now the people who transport these desperate people don’t have a market.
