Our council refuse service has once again sent us a list of items they will and won’t take away. Can spot the common fact here? They won’t take – Cloth, shredded paper, and they will take small regardable appliances like toothbrushes. They will take leftover paint, but as long as the is more than half left in the tin. The common factor is they’ll take what they can sell, but not what they can’t.
What I would like them to do is give vouchers to people who take sellable items to the council tip. Those vouchers to be used against your council tax. That would be a direct benefit, rather than them getting all this extra income to spend on overseas “fact finding” trips for endless reason to put up bunting or daft propaganda like these black services boards.
